Soul Odyssey is a spell of extraordinary power, designed for spellcasters who have reached the pinnacle of their art and seek to transcend the limits of their own existence. This spell offers a unique opportunity for personal and magical growth by allowing the caster to live a temporary second life, completely detached from their original identity. When the spell ends, the memories return to merge with the caster, strengthening the spellcaster's soul in the process.

When the spell is cast, the caster transforms into a new being, devoid of their magical powers and original memories. Before the transformation, the caster can define certain basic parameters for their new life, such as their place of birth, body age, race, gender, body type, or fundamental personality traits. This new existence persists until the death of the transformed form.

Although the caster is now a new being, a subtle link persists between the old and the new self. This connection mechanism manifests in several ways. A weak telepathic link allows occasional "flashes" of past life, which present themselves as vivid dreams or intense déjà vu. The caster also benefits from increased intuition in their original areas of expertise, without having access to specific knowledge.

It is crucial to note that during the duration of the spell, the caster's original body remains vulnerable and must be protected. If the caster's original body is destroyed, the old self is immediately fused with the new self, and the spell ends, with the spellcaster awakening in the new body. Conversely, if the new form dies, then the new self is fused with the old self after one year, and then the spell ends. If the new form dies from natural causes, there is no one-year delay.

This fusion between the old and the new self comes with significant benefits. The caster gains in charisma and wisdom, acquires new perspectives and skills, and sees their life experience deeply enriched.

A remarkable aspect of Soul Odyssey is that it preserves the caster's fundamental essence. Only the positive personality aspects and skills acquired during the second life are retained. The connection mechanism plays a crucial role in this preservation, while allowing for unique and profound personal growth.
