Reactive Dispel is an advanced abjuration spell developed by the brilliant yet paranoid sorcerer Émile Adelbrand. Its primary purpose was to counter the spells of his rival, Gérard Alois. When dormant, Reactive Dispel manifests as a faint, shimmering aura around the caster, visible only by a magic detection spell. When Reactive Dispel activates to cancel a detected spell, the spell automatically wakes up the spellcaster, if he's asleep. When Reactive Dispel activates, perform a caster level check against the incoming spell's caster level.
Reactive Dispel requires careful preparation by the caster. The sorcerer must specify trigger conditions:

Spell Schools
Caster Recognition
Temporal Triggers
A sorcerer's intelligence determines the number of Reactive Dispels they can maintain:
Intelligence (INT) | Number of Reactive Dispels |
---|---|
10-20 | 1 |
20-30 | 2 |
30+ | 3 |
Sorcerers can apply metamagic effects to enhance Reactive Dispel:
