Create Pit

Conjure a dimensional pit at a chosen location, and then choose what happens inside

This spell creates a pit dimension at the designated location, replacing existing terrain if it is non-magical and does not contain any magical items. If the designated area contains magical items, the DC of Create Pit must be higher than that of the magical item for the item to be temporarily displaced. This spell does not work if strong-willed creatures are in the area the pit would occupy. If a weak-willed creature, such as a worm, is present, it is teleported to a temporary location and returned when the spell ends.

Create Pit is a flexible meta-spell with several possible variants:

For each variant, apply damage as if using the required spell. The required spell must be of the same level or lower as the Create Pit spell used. For the Arsenal Pit variant, if a creature falls to the bottom, it takes damage from every weapon in the pit.

Player/GM Tip: To save time, calculate the average damage of these weapons and multiply by the caster level.

Create Pit scales with spell level. Higher-level versions allow the caster to use higher-level variants and increase the depth and width of the pit, trapping larger creatures. A caster can use higher-level versions of Create Pit while still opting for a medium-sized hole.
